No. 11

Any, Any, Extraterrestrial Abductions Day.

Jack hates high school. He has no idea why the hell he thought it would be a good idea to try again. The high school girls were cute for two seconds before he remembered they were high school girls and he'd been married and a father and lost a son and divorced before most of them could read.

He needs to get out. He hasn't got a solid plan yet. Even though he's emancipated he still has a social worker and a guardian ad litem and probably someone from the NID keeping an eye on him too, and he needs to figure them out before he can figure out his escape.

Because high school, in addition to being filled with children (and one boy looks just like Charlie would have at this age - no, don't think about that), celebrates the most inane holidays. Extra-terrestrial Abductions Day is a nightmare. The kids are running around sporting shirts that kinda look like they have Asgard on them, but they have no clue. What it's like to be hijacked by a Goa'uld, or to be trapped on an alien planet, or to be abducted by one of those little gray bastards and cloned improperly and then cut off from everyone and everything he knew and cared about and loved.

A girl tries to hand him an alien-shaped cookie. Jack pushes past her and marches for the parking lot.

"Hey, you can't skip school!" she calls after him.

"Watch me," he snaps over his shoulder, and runs into a person.

He comes up short, hands balled into fists, ready for a fight, ready for anything.

Except blue eyes behind glasses and a wry smile.

"Hey, Jack," Daniel says. "I called the office, checked you out for the day. Want to go shoot something? I need to re-qualify for gate travel."

"Hell yes," Jack says, and follows Daniel to his car. Worst damn holiday ever.
